There is so much I can relate to in this. I was working full-time while doing my PhD and found it extremely challenging, and I don’t have kids, so I can only imagine how much more you are holding.
I really connected with what you said about learning, growing, and wanting to model following a dream for your children. That part feels so important.
And I loved the 10 rules you made for protecting your PhD time. They made me smile, but they also show something very real. When your work happens at home, people can forget that it is still work. Sometimes you have to keep reminding everyone, including yourself, that writing, thinking, analysing, and building something slowly all count.
Hi Lauren, Thanks for being here and love to have you as part of my cheer team. It feels like am always negotiating for my time, kids are pretty good negotiators and formulate convincing arguments. If you have any other tips to add to the list, I am open to ideas!
Hello Katherine, thank you so much for being here and reading. I am so pleased it resonated with you. Yes it definitely isn't easy and I have learned many lessons along the way for sure.
Your time and writing is so valuable and it deserves all of you. 💕 I am glad it inspired you to set some protective time for your practice.
Thank you Sara, yes modelling to my children to follow their dreams is important.
Those rules are my reality in a household out numbered by children and ever ending needs.

I love the ways you carved out space for your pursuits and balances that with spending time with you family. You’ve got this 💪🏼

I admire your boundary setting and you honour your work.
I sprinkle the housework throughout my day and I reading this I realise it's because I feel guilty, that my writing isn't work.
Thanks for the inspiration!
