A reflection on what it feels like to be a student again at 45. The power of learning how to challenge my negative self-talk and what returning to being a student again has taught me about myself.
Wonderful and absolutely, coming back to studying and learning later offers a completely different approach. Your life experience offers perspective, discernment and just that experience and how they influence your life. Well done.
Hi Katja, Yes absolutely what a wonderful rollercoaster of a ride it is. Thank you for reading and connecting with me, being on this journey is certainly full of growth, appreciation and gratitude.
Congratulations on returning to complete your doctorate. This alone is a major life decision. Like you, I returned to school to finish my practice doctorate when I was 45 as well. As I read your story, it brought back a lot of memories. The part that spoke to me was when you said nobody ever asked how you were doing. Truth! I coach doctoral students, and that is the biggest takeaway. Good luck on your journey.
Ah so good this resonated with you! The first year was the hardest for me! Congratulations on coaching doctoral student, this is so valuable and really needed, I would absolutely recommend a PhD to have a coach in their first year and beyond! As my third-year approaches, I feel like I am on a homestretch and grateful for my mentor’s patience and kindness.
